There’s a big old buzz around manifestation at the moment and all the different benefits it can bring to your life… but what exactly is manifesting, how do you do it and what does the moon have to do with it all?
Wellness trends have been skyrocketing since the pandemic (perhaps unsurprisingly) and manifestation is the latest idea to really capture people’s attention.
The concept is a simple one - all you need to do is start thinking aspirational thoughts based on your own goals and what you want to achieve in order to will them into being. Before you know it, you’ll be living your best life!
Of course, it’s not quite as simple as just sitting down and having a good old think. You also need to be proactive in your approach and actually take real-life steps towards achieving your dreams… otherwise they’ll simply stay a fantasy and nothing else.
But by consistently talking to yourself about your hopes, dreams and future goals, you’ll help to keep them at the forefront of your mind, making it easier for you to prioritise them over other external pressures or temptations down a different path.
So that’s manifesting… but what about the moon? Where does she come into it all?
It’s thought by many that the moon is able to influence all sorts of different aspects of our lives and it may even be possible to harness this celestial power to help influence your energy, attitude and outlook. This is why the new moon period is such a precious time, representing a fresh new start… the perfect opportunity for some manifestation!
There are lots of moon rituals you can practise that can help steer you on the path to greatness - and the added benefit is that by tuning into the moon cycle, you’ll be forced to take time out from your busy, hectic lifestyle, making sure that you prioritise self-care on a regular basis… which will certainly be good for both your mental and emotional health.
The new moon appears approximately every 30 days, give or take, marking the start of a new lunar cycle and it’s the perfect time to do some reflective work, looking back over the previous month and making new manifestations for the month ahead.
Moon rituals come in many forms and guises - and there are even lots of groups all over the world that host these ceremonies, so this could be a good choice if you’re looking to expand your interest in the subject.
However, for beginners, it’s often preferable to make a space at home to hold your own rituals, as this gives you privacy while you get to grips with it all.
What about having a bath first to get rid of negative energy, then try saging the space itself, which will have a cleansing effect and ensure it’s ready for your new fresh start. Keep the lighting soft and gentle, perhaps with a few candles here and there, and consider playing some meditative music to create a sense of peace and calm.
Now you’re ready to write down your intentions, so focus on what you want to accomplish and achieve and what steps you intend to take towards furthering your ambitions.
